My dad was one of a kind. This is a picture of him and I at a basketball game at Madison Square Gardens. He passed away almost two years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him. Just about the time I started playing golf, my dad became ill and was unable to play anymore. I wish I could have had the chance to play a round with him. He would have been proud of the player that I have become. I keep one of his clubs in my bag at all times for luck.
My dad did not grow up playing golf. He began playing when he was in his early 40's. A couple of his friends who played, took him out and got him hooked on the game. He always looked forward to the spring and summer and being able to get out on the course. He worked so hard all of his life, the few hours he spent on the golf course were his retreat.
When it came time for his birthday and Father's Day, (his birthday was June 16th) when asked what he wanted, his response was always, how about something unique. He never asked for anything. Well Dad, I hope these Father's Day finds would have been something you would have enjoyed.
These Rhoback pieces are perfect for the dad who not only loves golf, but likes to celebrate Memorial Day and the 4th of July. What I love about the Rhoback pieces are they all feature an American flag on the back of the shirt under the collar. The blue, red and white striped polo is called "The Old Glory." The material on their polos is made of moisture wicking fabric, to keep you cool even on the hottest of days. The fabric also features UVF protection, to keep the harmful rays at bay. "The American Icon" is one of my favorites. The small pattern is made up of presidents' faces, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, etc. It is a great celebration of America and any dad you may know. It is made of the same UVF, moisture wicking material that makes their shirts worth their price. The quarter zip, "The Stateside" features red, white, and blue small polka dots. All of these shirts feature the small American flag on the back. There are even more great shirts featured on Rhoback's website.
Golfdotz are a great way to mark your ball so there is never any confusion on who's Titleist got closest to the pin. They come in a variety of patterns. I like these for the 4th of July. They also have 4 leaf clovers, flowers, wine glasses, etc. A fun way to mark your ball.
What dad couldn't use a new golf glove. Callaway offers a variety of golf gloves. I like this American themed glove to celebrate Memorial Day and the 4th. Having a spare glove or two in your bag is great, especially on those hot summer days when you might be perspiring a little too much.
This Bushnell speaker range finder is an ideal gift. We absolutely love ours. The Bushnell is a speaker with a magnetic strip along the back that enables it to be stuck to the front windshield rail of the golf cart. It connects via bluetooth to your phone to connect to your music. Download the app and you can also keep score digitally. Press the top disc and the Bushnell will call out your distance to the pin. A must have for any golfer.
What golfer couldn't use a new pair of golf shoes. I love the FootJoy brand of golf shoes. They are much lighter than the traditional golf shoe and they are super comfortable. They come in a variety of sizes and colors.
The capri blue shirt and navy short are both from Under Armour. The polo features moisture wicking material to keep you cool on the course. The shorts are made of lightweight moisture wicking material with lots of stretch. The white and black striped polo by Callaway offers extra stretch in the shoulders to handle that turn as you drive the ball. The black shorts offer moisture wicking material to keep you cool on the course. A great belt, hat and shoes finish off the outfit.
Who ever you might be buying for this Father's Day, make sure you make your gift special and enjoy your day with your loved one! I hope my dad is smiling down and watching me with every swing of my club.
